Summer Gardening Series at East Greenbush Library-Utilizing Groundcover for Weed Reduction

  • Tuesday, June 2, 2026, 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Are you frustrated by the time spent weeding your flower gardens? Would you like more time to enjoy them from afar?

Master Gardener Lorraine Ferguson will present how utilizing ground cover plants can reduce weeds and improve the health and beauty of your garden. She will address the benefits of ground cover, how to choose the right plant, and present examples of native and non-native plants that will grow well in our area.

Lorraine Ferguson is a Rensselaer County Cooperative Extension Master Gardener and avid perennial gardener.

This is the first event of the Sustainability Series! The East Greenbush Library will feature four gardening events on the first Tuesday of the month from June through September 2026. Each talk will be presented by a Master Gardener from Cornell Cooperative Extension.  Registration is required. Please register online at the East Greenbush Library website    https://eglibrary.org/
