Dr. Angela Odoms-Young Cornell University, Division of Nutritional Sciences
Angela Odoms-Young, PhD (she/her/hers), is the Nancy Schlegel Meinig Associate Professor of Maternal and Child Nutrition at Cornell University, where she directs the Food and Nutrition Education in Communities Program (FNEC) and the New York State Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP). She also serves as Cornell Cooperative Extension Critical Issue Lead for Human Nutrition, Food Safety and Security, and Obesity Prevention, advancing community-engaged strategies to address barriers to healthy living and improve population nutrition.
Dr. Dan Berry Cornell University, Division of Nutritional Sciences
Daniel Berry, Ph.D. is the Andre Bensadoun Associate Professor in the Division of Nutritional Sciences at Cornell University. He graduated from State University of New York at Cortland with a BS degree in Biology with a concentration in Environmental Science. He received a PhD degree in Molecular Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University and performed his postdoctoral studies in the Department of Developmental Biology and the Division of Endocrinology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
The Berry research group is interested in studying adipose tissue biology and systemic metabolism and do so by examining adipose stem cells. Our group is especially interested in understanding how adipose stem cells communicate with their niche/microenvironment to generate adipocytes under specific nutrient stress and environmental conditions.
